Fragments
Solidarity celebrates our differences instead of using them to divide us. It recognizes that we all have different layers of needs and ensures those needs are met in co-operation.
By creating constructs, colonialism fueled by white supremacy and capitalism, would have us divided based on created constructs. These constructs are dangerous because they group us with the intent to divide, not with the intent to celebrate. These constructs force us to change our focus identity from Human first to our constructed identity first (eg Trans first. White first. Woman first. Black first. Man first. Adult first. Able-bodied first. Disabled first.). These constructed identities come with power dynamics and hierarchies that allow for exploitation and oppression. They used to pit us against each other for privilege and rights.
Solidarity happens when we remove those constructs and find co-operation again with Human first, but also when we talk about humanity being a part of nature, it is Nature first.
Solidarity recognizes our differences in abilities and needs, it recognizes cultural uniqueness and celebrates it, but reminds us that we are all a part of Nature first. We are all Humans first. That is what connects us, not divides us.
Constructs create division because it works to individualize people and nations into colonial mindsets. This division benefits white supremacy and capitalism because as long as we are defining who we are by our constructs, we will never be able to rid ourselves of the exploitation and oppression that has been forced on us. Innate human rights exist because we are innately human. The systems seek to divide our humanity so it can justify the dehumanization of certain constructed identities and refuse their innate rights.
We are fragmented. We are fragmented because so many people have been brainwashed and propagandized into believing these constructed identities define our rights. The only way past that fragmentation is solidarity. Solidarity decolonizes our minds and actions. Solidarity recognizes differences and delights in them. Solidarity brings us back to each other and to the earth.
