Liberal: "what should we do?!"

Me: "join your local mutual aid group and build networks of support"

Liberal: "...but that's not what I meant. People aren't going to change their lifestyles"

A real interaction I had yesterday.

Listen y'all,

The *only* way we survive this is community care and support. Being in the streets is a fraction of the work being done, is not for everyone, and is only useful when organized which can only happen in networking and support building.

We have to start with the basics if we want to build anything sustainable. I'm sorry that's not flashy or fun but someone needs to fill out the spreadsheets and someone needs to cook dinner and someone needs to watch the kids and someone needs to do the laundry and someone needs to give folks rides for groceries.

There is no quick jump to liberation. We have to build it in ourselves through our hearts and minds and actions.

A diversity of tactics and roles means being in the street in just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to movement work.

Hi Liberals?

Calling your senators isn’t resisting a fascist government.

Writing letters to your governor isn’t resisting a fascist government.

Marching on sidewalks isn’t resisting a fascist government.

You have to do more than performative nonsense and you have to start NOW.
